Other Names Or Titles of God
Other names or titles of God found in scripture are signified by an
additional word added to the divine name Yahweh. Again the English
translation does not always convey fully the significance of these titles.
Thus knowing what they are, can greatly enrich our understanding of God
and His provision of salvation.
The table below gives some titles of God found in scripture, their
meaning and an example of where they can be found.

The name Yahweh was declared to Moses as we read:
"God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: And I
appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God
Almighty, but by my name YAHWEH was I not known to them." Exodus
6:2-3
Yahweh is then the name of God and the other Hebrew words found in
scripture are more clearly seen as titles of God, rather than names in
themselves. These titles express and denote the character, purpose, power
and strength of God as embodied or personified through those whom He
chooses to use as his agents.
